Curriculum

Reggio Inspired Curriculum

It is our belief that all children bring their perspectives, expectations, knowledge, and skills to their learning experience.

Our programs are child focused and initiated, inspired by children’s curiosity and imagination, designed to nurture the development and growth of each child.

We believe that children are:

  • Capable and therefore able to explore big ideas, and big projects to go deep in learning.
  • Challenged, and difficult problems are posed.
  • Encouraged to take risks and to form new theories.
  • Rich in potential so that new connections and new discoveries can be made and new perspectives be appreciated.
  • Competent (so they are given real tools and materials, high quality art supplies, and a beautiful and inspiring environment in which to learn)
  • Artists, scientists, mathematicians, creators, engineers, dancers, storytellers, musicians, bakers…. And they have 100 languages to communicate their ideas.

Early Learning Framework

Our curriculum is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), with a holistic approach, to incorporate all areas of learning and development.

This has a specific emphasis on play-based learning and recognises the importance of communication, language, numeracy, social and emotional development.

The EYLF Learning Outcomes are:

  1. 1
Children have a strong sense of identity
  2. 2
Children are connected with and contribute to their world
  3. 3
Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
  4. 4
Children are confident and involved learners
  5. 5
    Children are effective communicators

Extra-curricular

We truly believe there needs to be a holistic approach in this fast-paced technological world we live in, not only to ensure that our children can keep up with education and technology, but to provide an outlet for them to explore their creative flair through art, music and sports.

It is fundamental to also ensure they can slow their mind and bodies down and understand the importance of rest and relaxation through practices such as yoga, meditation, mindfulness, and general self-awareness.

We offer many various incursions, to promote children’s physical health and wellbeing which are included as part of the fees.
Talk to your Nominated Supervisor about when music, dance, sports, yoga are happening in your child’s class.
