About

Philosophy

In order to provide a high standard of education and care in Early Childhood settings, it is important that the centre have a philosophy that guides educator practices and forms the basis of our practice. Here at Above and Beyond Early Learning Centre, this is what we believe:

At Above and Beyond Early Learning, we believe in fostering a nurturing environment where children, educators, families, stakeholders, and the community come together to support each child’s growth and learning journey. We understand that each child is unique and deserves to be valued, respected, and celebrated for their individuality. Our philosophy revolves around the core principles of nurturing, growing, and learning, ensuring that every child feels loved, safe, and encouraged to explore their world.

We believe in the power of nurturing relationships to lay the foundation for a child’s holistic development. Our educators are dedicated to building trusting and supportive bonds with each child, providing them with the emotional security they need to thrive. Through warmth, empathy, and understanding, we create a nurturing atmosphere where children feel valued, respected, and cared for.

Every child is born with endless possibilities waiting to be unleashed. We are committed to providing enriching experiences and opportunities for growth in all areas of development – cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and creative. Our play-based curriculum encourages children to explore, experiment, and discover, fostering their curiosity and natural inclination to learn. We celebrate each milestone and achievement, recognizing that every step forward is a testament to a child’s resilience and
determination.

Learning is a lifelong journey, and we are passionate about instilling a love for learning in every child. Our educators are dedicated facilitators, guiding children’s learning with enthusiasm, creativity, and flexibility. We believe in providing a stimulating environment where children are encouraged to ask questions, seek answers, and engage in meaningful exploration. By embracing diversity, curiosity, and critical thinking, we empower children to become lifelong learners who are confident, adaptable, and ready to navigate an ever-changing world.

We are committed to collaboration and partnership among children, educators, families, stakeholders, and the community. Together, to create a supportive and inclusive environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute to the growth and development of each child attending at our service.

Fees and inclusions

Our fees are all inclusive, covering nappies, meals and selected extracurricular activities. We understand all families are different and need different hours of care. Therefore, we offer the following session times:

  • 7.5 hour session (Kindergarten only)
  • 9 hour session
  • 10 hour session
  • 12 hour session

You have the flexibility to choose your own hours to match these sessions!

Child Care Subsidy

Child Care Subsidy is the regular payment that assists most families with the costs of child care. Child Care Subsidy will be paid directly to providers in most cases, to be passed on to families as a fee reduction. This in turn will reduce the fees that a family pays a child care provider for the care of their child/ren. You can find out more about the CCS at, Services Australia.

Please speak with the Nominated Supervisor at our centre for all further information relating to our daily fees, session times and how CCS will apply to you.

Community

Community connections are the essential building block for our service. Strong partnerships, safety for all children and a supportive network for families facilitate our daily routines and culture. We are here to support families in their parenting role. If you would like information on family or child-related matters please don’t hesitate to ask, as we may be able to help you.

Sustainability

We encourage connections to the natural world by nurturing children’s understanding and respect for the natural environment.

Our programming emphasises the connection between people, plants, animals, and the land.

We encourage children every day to practice sustainability in their day-to-day routines, including the below activities:

  • Use recyclable materials where possible;
  • Educate children on recycling practices and implement these practices into daily routines;
  • Use rosters and routines to allow children to be involved and responsible for watering and energy/waste/water reduction;
  • Encourage children to turn the water off once they have washed their hands;
  • Educate children about electricity and the importance of turning lights off;
  • Educate children on caring for our plants;
  • Emptying water bottles into gardens;
  • Use recycled and natural products for construction, arts and crafts where suitable;
  • Have available a range of resources, books, posters, games, puzzles and science resources to support learning.
